AquaSurTech OEM is based in Montreal, Canada with facilities in Ohio. Emerich L. de Kovachich visited Versatex Trimboard in Aliquippa, PA to help us create videos to show the building industry about painting Versatex dark colors and how AquaSurTech performs. I asked Emerich several questions to help us learn more about the technology behind the paints and how exactly it impacts the performance of Versatex Trimboard. Enjoy the conversation. Bryan Abdallah [00:00:00]
Bryan Abdallah here with Versatex Trimboard. We're here at our plant in Aliquippa Pennsylvania. And we had Emerich come down from up north in Canada to talk about Aqua Sur Tech paints. So Emerich talk to us about Aqua Sur Tech.
Emerich L. de Kovachich [00:00:16]
So Aqua Sur Tech is based in Montreal. The largest production facility is in Ohio, just outside of Columbus. We've been in business for over 25 years now mainly servicing the window and door industry. We make high performance environmentally friendly water based paints and stains mainly for PVC and vinyl.
Bryan Abdallah [00:00:38]
So they molecularly bond to the PVC.
Emerich L. de Kovachich [00:00:42]
That's correct. So once our coatings have bonded with any PVC based product, they essentially become one substance with the PVC and you can't separate it from itself essentially.
Bryan Abdallah [00:00:53]
So you know with Versatex, with PVC there are limitations with expansion and contraction using dark paint. The nice thing about your product is I understand can withstand those dark paints on our product?
Emerich L. de Kovachich [00:01:07]
Right. And that comes from the highly heat reflective pigments that we use. That allows you to use any color including blacks, forest green, dark bronze and have it installed anywhere. And basically you're not creating more expansion or contraction because we're able to reflect the way almost all of heat light and UV rays. To give you an example, the typical heat build difference between a piece of unpainted white Versatex and the same trim board painted with our black, will be about three to five degrees Fahrenheit. So that's significant when it comes to expansion and contraction.
Bryan Abdallah [00:01:44]
So you're going to show us how you do that today?
Emerich L. de Kovachich [00:01:51 ]
That's right. We'll talk about how to prepare the product for paint, how to apply it, and once it's on it's never coming off. You can have decades of beautiful performance.
