  • FAQ
  • What is the Canvas Series product line made from?

Canvas is made from VERSATEX’s cellular PVC with an exterior-grade, wood-tone laminate bonded onto our WP4, Stealth Beadboard, 4” Crown and Bed Mould profiles, eliminating the requirement of labor-intensive re-staining and adding the long-lasting durability and moisture/insect resistance of VERSATEX cellular PVC.

Does it hold up to the sun?

The laminate achieves excellent values in reducing heat build-up and weathering. Ideally suited for all-weather environments, but fully suited for hot climate zones.

What is the Canvas Series warranty?

Regarding Canvas Series Products, VERSATEX warrants to the Consumer/Purchaser that the film laminate will not discolor beyond the manufacturer’s tolerances (≤ greyscale 3 – ISO 105-A02) for 12 years from the date of original purchase. Furthermore, VERSATEX warrants to the Consumer/Purchaser that the application of the film onto the underlying PVC substrate be free from manufacturing defects for 12 years from the original purchase date. The substrate carries a lifetime fully transferable warranty against rot/crack/chip/ or delamination.

    What is the fire rating?

Cellular PVC will not support combustion and will only burn when in direct contact with a flame source. It also carries a flame spread rating of less than 25, giving it a Class “A” fire rating when used in an exterior application.

    Are the boards identical?

VERSATEX recommends mixing up all Canvas Series boards for the most natural look, so the wood grains vary when installed. However, most laminate patterns are varied and lineal, thus looking natural to the naked eye.

Could you use it as ship lap inside?

Absolutely. Canvas is perfect for inside and outside the home and installs just like any wood-based T&G product.

Can you run it vertically as an accent wall?

Absolutely. Versatex can be used both vertically and horizontally for accent walls/siding. Please contact our engineering office (724.857.1111) for installation details.

Can we purchase directly from your website?

No, we sell through lumberyards and building supply dealers across the US and Canada. Check our website for a dealer near you, and if none is listed, call us with the name of the dealer in your area you want to work with, and we will facilitate the sale through them.

    How much does Canvas cost?

Canvas is approximately $9 – 10/lf for our WP4 profile and $7-$8/lf for our Stealth Beadboard (like high-end woods like mahogany once stained). Canvas, however, varies by region due to freight and other costs. For accurate pricing, please get in touch with your local dealer. • Testimonials
  • Thanks to the product’s light weight and ingenious proprietary fastening system, HGTV’s Chip Wade explained, a two-person crew was easily able to cover one side of the home in less than a day. “I love VERSATEX’s VZClip hidden fastener system. It’s simple, accurate and secure, while allowing boards to ‘float’ just enough for normal expansion and contraction. And, if need be, you can replace a board without damaging any other part of the installation.” – Chip Wade, HGTV Host & Master Craftsman

“The Canvas Series allows us to give our custom-built homes a unique look. The durability and simple, clean installation sold me.” – Bob Sharpe, Sharpe Construction, Surf City, NJ

“I love the versatility and ease of use… Most PVC ‘wood products’ look fake, and VERSATEX’s Canvas Series
does not. It’s amazing.” – Dan Harriger, Harriger Construction, Empire, MI

“Whether it’s for new home construction or a renovation, the Canvas Series can transform a dull space into something that looks like a million bucks.” – Ken Keirns, JFS Construction, Tampa FL
